Here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions to try and help you navigate your adoption process.

If I placed a deposit, can I pick up my puppy right now?
Ohio law requires that each puppy needs to be 8 weeks old before they can be picked up or delivered. So if the pup is 8 weeks of age the answer is yes. We would encourage you to place a deposit as each puppy that is available online can have a deposit placed on it at any time, thus we can not guarantee a pup will still be available without a deposit. If a deposit is placed to reserve a pup, that pup will show “puppy has found a home” and will not be able to be added to someone else’s cart.
Deposits are 20% of the purchase price. Each deposit will reserve your pup until the puppy is 8 weeks old or for up to two weeks. ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
Each puppy needs to be 8 weeks of age before the puppy can be delivered. We try to schedule pups as soon as we receive a deposit however the exact date and time will vary based upon the shipper, your location, and the time of the year. We try to have each puppy delivered within two weeks. 100% of our pups have arrived safely to their new fur-ever home if you need delivery option.
Each puppy’s situation is different. Some pups come directly from the breeder and may come with limited registration papers.  However, we are also an organization where at times pups are rescued that may have come from toxic environments or are simply older pups that weren’t placed in homes at a young age and we seek to place each one in loving forever homes like they deserve. So each situation is different and most of the times the pups will not be registered. If you know of any puppymills or pups in an abusive situation please email us so we can take steps to see what we can do to ensure they get cared for and placed in good loving homes.

You can simply CLICK HERE and register your puppies microchip with your contact information. If your puppy has a microchip it will not be pre-registered. As the first owner of your puppy, you will be the first one to register the puppy’s microchip as its rightful owner. Many new owners also decide to rename their puppy and so the puppy will be registered with its forever name.

What should we do if we are made aware of a puppymill or know of an abusive situation?
Please email us so we can help to look into the situation and work with local authorities to try and ensure these pups get placed in loving, caring homes instead of being dumped at a pound or shelter.
Where do I pick up my puppy?
Each situation varies and most will be picked up from foster homes or a local public location (gas station, walmart, etc). Others will be picked up directly from the breeder themselves. Most of the pups listed are ones that may be the last from their litter to be sold and are a bit older and still seeking a loving home or come from homes that can no longer properly care for their pup for any unknown reason. We recently received a call from a young gentleman who had enlisted and had to move and couldn’t find a family member that wanted his beautiful Siberian Husky. He contacted us and we were able to find a loving home for him with a family that already had an older husky and it was a perfect match!
Who is Home Town Puppies?
We are passionate that every pup deserves a kind and loving home no matter their age or circumstances. In the events of recent, we are seeing a growing number of families realize a puppy is more than they can handle, or that their pup is alone more and more as jobs return to normal. We hope to do everything we can to keep our pups out of shelters or pounds, and seek to re-home them in the most comfortable and loving way possible.. If you have any questions please feel free to email us at info@hometownpups.com
Are your breeders licensed?
Yes and no. We have both. Ohio breeding guidelines are some of the strictest in the country and each breeder is required to adhere to them. Many of our breeders are small family breeders and do not need to be licensed if they have less than 5 females.
